BATAVIA, Ohio — A man reportedly pulled a knife on a Walmart employee early Wednesday, according to initial emergency radio traffic, touching off a search of the store’s parking lot that did not turn up the suspect.
Deputies were dispatched to the store shortly after 12:20 a.m. after a report of a man with a weapon, according to radio traffic. Units described the man as a white male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black jacket, white shirt and shorts, and said he had been seen walking around the parking lot on the store’s grocery side.
Radio traffic identified him as “the same male from earlier,” suggesting deputies believed he may have been involved in an earlier encounter at the store that night. According to radio traffic, the man reportedly pulled a knife on an employee before the report went out.
Responding deputies searched the grocery-side parking lot and the rear of the store but reported they were unable to locate the man, according to radio traffic. No injuries were reported over the air.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
