MILFORD, Ohio — The city of Milford will host a free fall family day Saturday at Five Points Landing Park, featuring games, pumpkin painting and a visit from a local bird-of-prey rehabilitation group.
The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 at the park, 527 Lila Ave., the city said in a Facebook post.
RAPTOR Inc., a Milford-based nonprofit that rehabilitates injured birds of prey, is scheduled to bring an educational program to the event. The organization, whose name stands for Regional Association for the Protection and Treatment Of Raptors, was founded in 1978 and is based at 961 Barg Salt Run Road. It holds state and federal permits to treat more than 300 injured hawks, owls and other raptors each year and delivers more than 350 educational presentations annually at schools, libraries and community events across the region. The group cares for 10 permanent resident birds representing species native to Ohio, according to the organization.
Five Points Landing Park opened on the site of the former Milford Main Middle School at Main Street and Lila Avenue. The city redeveloped the property into a civic gathering space with an open-air entertainment area, a splash fountain, a dog park and space for the Milford Farmers Market, which runs there on Saturdays through late September.
Families attending Saturday’s event can expect additional games and activities beyond the pumpkin painting and raptor visit, though the city has not released a full schedule.
