LOVELAND, Ohio — A TriHealth mobile mammography van will park in downtown Loveland on Oct. 14, giving women a chance to get a breast cancer screening close to home without a trip to a hospital or imaging center.
The van will be stationed at 200 1st St. from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the city of Loveland said in a social media post promoting the event.
TriHealth’s mobile unit uses 3D digital tomosynthesis imaging, technology the health system says offers more accurate detection of early-stage breast cancer than standard 2D mammography. Screening mammograms aboard the van are available to women 40 and older, as well as women ages 35 to 39 with a family history of breast cancer, according to TriHealth. Each exam takes about 20 minutes, and results are typically posted to patients’ TriHealth MyChart accounts within 24 to 48 hours.
The van travels weekly to community and business locations across TriHealth’s four-county Greater Cincinnati service area, making more than 150 stops a year. Most insurance plans cover the screening, and TriHealth said financial assistance may be available for women who are uninsured or underinsured.
Women can schedule an appointment by calling TriHealth at 513-569-6565.
