LOVELAND, Ohio — The city is seeking grant funding to expand and overhaul the playground at Nisbet Park, the latest phase in an ongoing renovation of the downtown park along the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail.
The proposed improvements would enlarge the playground’s footprint, add play elements designed to serve a broader range of ages, and replace the existing mulch surface with a synthetic surface intended to improve accessibility and provide greater ADA access throughout the playground, according to the city.

Loveland’s Parks and Recreation Board will review the proposed plans at its Oct. 22 meeting, set for 6 p.m. at City Hall, before the city submits its grant application. Residents who want to learn more about the proposed improvements or weigh in are encouraged to attend, the city said.
The playground sits in Nisbet Park, which the city’s Recreation Board began redesigning under a master plan drafted in 2021 after soliciting public input through in-person and online surveys. Construction on the plan’s first phase, an ADA-accessible gazebo and pathway, was completed in 2023.

The park currently offers a playground, amphitheater, picnic shelters, a pavilion, grills, restrooms and fishing access, along with a bike repair station connecting to the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail, according to the city.
