TATE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Fire crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire on the 300 block of Brown Street, near Arthur Drive and East Osborne Street, shortly after 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to initial emergency radio traffic.
A caller reported an active fire in a bathroom with smoke and flames visible at a single-story home, according to radio traffic. Dispatchers sent multiple units on a structure-fire assignment, including engine, tower and rescue companies, and a chief officer established command at the scene.
Crews on scene reported smoke showing from the single-story structure as they began an offensive attack, according to radio traffic. Firefighters could be heard requesting water and beginning ventilation operations within the first few minutes of arrival.
Within roughly five minutes of the first units arriving, radio traffic indicated the fire had been knocked down. A chief on scene advised the fire was out and canceled mutual aid units that had been dispatched but had not yet arrived. Command was later terminated and units returned to service.
No additional details on injuries or the cause of the fire were discussed over the radio.
