BATAVIA, Ohio — HealthSource of Ohio and UC Health will break ground Oct. 20 on a new 80,000-square-foot medical office building in Batavia that will bring primary care, specialty services, behavioral health and a pharmacy under one roof, the organizations announced.
The facility is planned for 1536 Old State Route 74, according to a project rendering released by HealthSource of Ohio and UC Health. Batavia Township shared news of the groundbreaking on its Facebook page.
HealthSource of Ohio will develop the building and provide primary care, integrated behavioral health services, urgent care, vision care and a pharmacy with a drive-thru window, the organizations said in announcing the project. UC Health will operate specialty care and diagnostic services inside the same building, allowing patients to see a primary care provider and a specialist without traveling between separate offices.
“This space represents a significant step forward in ensuring individuals and families in our community can access the care they need, when and where they need it,” Dr. Jody Prather, president and CEO of HealthSource of Ohio, said in a statement announcing the project.
Cory Shaw, president and CEO of UC Health, said the partnership is meant to expand access to care across the region. “Together, we’re shaping the future of healthcare in Clermont County and beyond by removing barriers so that all can thrive,” Shaw said.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2028, according to the organizations.
HealthSource of Ohio already operates a family practice, an OB/GYN clinic and a pharmacy at 2055 Hospital Drive in Batavia. The organization is a federally designated Health Center Program grantee, providing primary care, dental, vision and behavioral health services at locations across the region.
UC Health is the academic health system affiliated with the University of Cincinnati, providing clinical care in partnership with the UC College of Medicine across the Cincinnati region.
