JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Jackson Township will hold its annual Clean Up Day on Saturday, Aug. 8, giving residents a chance to dispose of unwanted household items, the township said in a Facebook post.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3341 U.S. Route 50 in Williamsburg, about four-tenths of a mile east of the Jackson Township Community Center, according to a flyer the township posted announcing the event.
Residents are encouraged to use the day to clear out garages, basements, barns and sheds, the township said. Tires, paint, chemicals and oil will not be accepted. Appliances containing freon may be accepted by a scrap service that will be on site, though that provider may charge a disposal fee payable directly to it; the township said it is not responsible for collecting fees or disposing of prohibited items.
Jackson Township covers about 31 square miles in the northeastern corner of Clermont County and had roughly 3,100 residents as of the 2020 U.S. Census. Founded in 1834 and named for President Andrew Jackson, the largely rural, agricultural township has no incorporated municipalities within its borders.
The township’s Board of Trustees holds regular business meetings the first Monday of each month and work sessions the third Monday, both at 7 p.m., at the Jackson Township Community Center, 3263 U.S. Route 50 in Williamsburg.
