FELICITY, Ohio — Felicity-Franklin Local School District students who attend Grant Career Center will head back to class more than a week before their classmates, with juniors starting Aug. 12 and seniors starting Aug. 13, the district said.
Students needing a ride should report to the front of Felicity-Franklin High School, according to the district. The bus is scheduled to depart at 7:20 a.m. and return at approximately 2:40 p.m. Half-day students will be picked up from Grant Career Center at 10:45 a.m. and dropped back at the high school by about 11:05 a.m.
Grant Career Center, formally known as U.S. Grant Career Center, is a career-technical school at 718 W. Plane St. in Bethel that enrolls juniors and seniors from Felicity-Franklin, Bethel-Tate, Williamsburg and New Richmond school districts. The school offers technical programs in fields including health care, automotive technology, construction, cosmetology, culinary arts, criminal justice, early childhood education, information technology, veterinary science, engineering and manufacturing, preparing students for jobs or further education after graduation. It is named for Ulysses S. Grant, the Civil War general and 18th U.S. president who was born in Point Pleasant, in eastern Clermont County, in 1822.
Regular transportation between students’ homes and Felicity-Franklin High School will not begin until the district’s own first day of school on Aug. 20, the district said. Until then, families must arrange their own transportation to and from the high school for students attending Grant Career Center.
