Batavia Township seeks resident input on growth plan update

BATAVIA, Ohio — Batavia Township is asking residents to help shape an update to its Growth Policy Plan, the long-range document that guides land use, infrastructure and public services across the township, officials said in a Facebook post.

Township staff, working with the township’s Growth Policy Plan Committee, launched the update this year and are collecting public input through an online survey on development and community services, the township said. The survey asks residents to weigh in on their vision for the township’s future and is open now, according to a website the township set up for the update, bataviatwpgrowthpolicyplan.com.

The current Growth Policy Plan was adopted in 2018, replacing a version that dated to 2004, according to the township’s website. The update follows a three-phase process: an initial kickoff and public engagement phase, a “visioning” phase to update community goals, and a final drafting phase before the plan is completed and adopted, the website states.
