UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 2-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle in a Kroger parking lot on Eastgate Boulevard shortly after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to initial emergency radio traffic.
Crews were dispatched to the store after a caller reported a child had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot, radio traffic indicated. A 42-year-old woman, believed to be the boy’s mother, was also evaluated at the scene.
Arriving units reported the boy was conscious and breathing and had suffered a laceration, according to radio traffic. The two waited near the store’s pharmacy entrance for transport.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the boy remained inside the store and was located by responding units, radio traffic indicated. No further information on the driver or on possible charges was available on the air.
