BATAVIA, Ohio — The Clermont County Animal Shelter is temporarily cutting its adoption fees for adult dogs, discounting dogs 1 year and older through Sept. 5, the shelter said in a Facebook post.
The shelter said its current group of adoptable dogs ranges from “playful pups to couch potatoes,” with a variety of breeds, ages and personalities available. Staff encouraged families running back-to-school errands to stop by, saying prospective adopters can visit the shelter in person or submit an application online to speed up the process.
The shelter normally charges $120 to adopt an adult dog, $170 for a puppy and $85 for a senior dog, according to Clermont County government. The discount applies to the $120 adult rate through Sept. 5.
The Clermont County Animal Shelter, at 4025 Filager Road in Batavia, is a public no-kill kennel that takes in roughly 800 dogs a year, according to the county. It is open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays. The shelter can be reached at 513-732-8854.
