NEVILLE, Ohio — Neville-Penn Schoolhouse Road will close to through traffic on five days in October so Duke Energy crews can relocate utility poles and overhead wire ahead of a landslide repair project, the Clermont County Engineer’s Office said.
The closure covers the section of Neville-Penn Schoolhouse Road between the addresses of 360 and 374, in Washington Township, according to the engineer’s office. It will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day from Oct. 12 through Oct. 16.
Crews will move the poles and overhead wire out of the way ahead of the planned landslide project, the engineer’s office said in a Facebook post. A posted detour will route traffic around the closed section for the duration of the work.
The engineer’s office has carried out a landslide repair project in the county in nearly every year since at least 2020, according to the office’s list of construction projects, addressing slope failures that regularly occur on township and county roads across Clermont County’s hilly terrain along the Ohio River. Neville-Penn Schoolhouse Road runs through Washington Township, a roughly 36-square-mile township along the river that includes the villages of Moscow and Neville.
Drivers who rely on the road to reach homes and businesses along the closed section during work hours should plan for the posted detour, the engineer’s office said.
