PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Police are investigating a string of thefts from vehicles that occurred during the early morning hours of Aug. 3 in several residential neighborhoods, according to the Pierce Township Police Department.
The thefts occurred in the areas of Legendary Run, Turnberry, Kipling Crossing and Kittery Lane, the department said in a Facebook post. In every case, the vehicles had been left unlocked, and in several incidents, key fobs left inside the vehicles were stolen.
The department urged residents to take basic precautions to protect themselves, including always locking vehicles, removing valuables and other items from plain view, and never leaving a key fob inside a vehicle.
Residents who live in or near the affected neighborhoods were asked to check Ring or other home security cameras for any suspicious people or activity during the early morning hours of Aug. 3. Anyone with video that may assist the investigation was asked to send it to Detective Justin Schultz at [email protected], the department said.
