LOVELAND, Ohio — Second Street will close overnight beginning tonight as crews make sanitary sewer repairs for the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati, the city said in a Facebook post.
The closure begins Monday, Oct. 5, and runs nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Oct. 23, with all work confined to the overnight hours, according to the city. A detour will be posted, and the contractor is required to install appropriate signage before each night’s closure.
The city asked drivers to plan ahead and follow posted detour signs while the work is underway.
Second Street runs through Loveland’s historic downtown business district, which sits in a small valley along the Little Miami River near the Hamilton-Clermont county line.
MSD has operated Loveland’s sanitary sewer system since 1985 under a contract that lets the city retain ownership of its sewer plant and lines while MSD runs day-to-day operations. Sewer rates for Loveland customers are set by the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners, which oversees MSD’s rate structure for its entire service area.
