TATE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The closure of Spring Grove Road for a bridge replacement project will run six weeks longer than originally planned, with the road now set to reopen Nov. 13 instead of Oct. 2, the Clermont County Engineer’s Office said.
The road has been closed to through traffic since July 27 between addresses 3749 and 3756 so a contractor can replace Bridge No. C114-0.43. The engineer’s office said additional time is needed to finish the work because of logistical challenges and unexpected issues discovered during construction.

The marked detour, which has been in place since the closure began, remains unchanged. It routes drivers about 7.77 miles around the work zone using nearby county roads and State Route 125, according to the engineer’s office. The Bethel-Tate Local School District is the district affected by the closure.
Bridge replacements are among the core responsibilities of the county engineer, an office that under Ohio law is charged with the design, construction, maintenance and repair of the county’s roads and bridges. The Clermont County Engineer’s Office maintains 387.2 centerline miles of county highways, 423 bridges and roughly 2,970 roadway culverts, according to the office. Spring Grove Road Bridge No. C114-0.43 is one of those structures.
The office directed residents seeking more information to its website and asked for patience during the extended work. “Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this necessary bridge replacement project,” the office said in a post.
