STONELICK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Stonelick Township will close a stretch of Benton Road on Friday and restrict traffic on Whitmer Road on Saturday as paving crews resurface both roads this weekend, the township said in a Facebook post.
Benton Road will be closed to through traffic from Stonelick-Williams Corner Road to 5313 Benton Road on Friday, Oct. 9, while the paving is completed, according to the township. Motorists who normally use that stretch will need to find an alternate route for the day.
Whitmer Road is scheduled for paving on Saturday, Oct. 10. The township said that road will remain passable for local residents throughout the work, though drivers should expect temporary delays and restricted access as crews move through the area.
The township said it received limited advance notice from the paving contractor and posted the closure information as soon as it was available. “We sincerely apologize for the short notice,” the township said in its post, adding that the contractor’s timeline left little lead time to warn residents sooner.
Stonelick Township asked residents to plan accordingly, use alternate routes where necessary and use caution around paving crews and equipment while the work is underway.
The township, organized in 1812 in the northern part of Clermont County, is home to about 5,700 residents and includes the village of Owensville. It is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees — David Pennington, Naomi Blankenship and Edward “Moe” Cooper — along with Fiscal Officer Tracey Sumner.
