BATAVIA, Ohio — The Physical Therapist Assistant program at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College has been named the 2026 Program of the Year by the Ohio Physical Therapy Association, the college announced.
“This achievement reflects the hard work, passion, and dedication of everyone involved in our PTA program,” the college said in a post, crediting its faculty, students, alumni and supporters.
The Ohio Physical Therapy Association is the state chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. Organized in 1951 and based in Westerville, the nonprofit represents roughly 3,200 licensed physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and students across Ohio.
Physical therapist assistants provide hands-on care such as functional mobility training, patient positioning, manual therapy and exercise programs while working under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. UC Clermont’s two-year program prepares graduates for entry-level work in the field and awards an associate degree.
The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, the national accrediting body for physical therapy education. It was first accredited in 1987 through what was then UC’s College of Allied Health and was transferred to UC Clermont College in 2009. The program most recently earned a 10-year term of accreditation, the longest granted by the commission.
UC Clermont College is a two-year, open-access branch campus of the University of Cincinnati located on Clermont College Drive in Batavia, serving students across Clermont County and the surrounding region.
