UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — West Clermont Local Schools will open its 2026-27 academic year the week of Aug. 17, with the first day of classes staggered across three days by grade level and last name, according to the district.
The district shared calendar highlights in a graphic posted to its Facebook page, outlining the first and last days of school, the end of each grading quarter and scheduled breaks for the coming year.
Students in grades 6 and 9, along with kindergarten through fifth graders whose last names begin with A through M, will start Aug. 18. Grades 7-12 students and K-5 students with last names N through Z follow Aug. 19. All students in kindergarten through 12th grade will be in class together for the first time that year on Aug. 20, the district said.
The school year will run through May 27, the scheduled last day of classes.
Fall break is set for Nov. 23-27, 2026. Winter break runs Dec. 21, 2026, through Jan. 4, 2027, with students returning to class Jan. 5. Spring break is scheduled for March 26 through April 2, 2027, according to the calendar.
Grading quarters are scheduled to end Oct. 15, Dec. 18, March 11 and May 27, the final day of school.
The district also listed a series of no-school days for students throughout the year, including Sept. 7, Sept. 21, Oct. 2, Oct. 16, Nov. 2-3, Jan. 15, Feb. 12 and March 12, along with holidays Jan. 18 and Feb. 15. The district noted that the May 4 no-school date could change.
West Clermont Local Schools is Ohio’s 23rd-largest school district by enrollment, serving roughly 8,100 students across seven elementary schools, one middle school and West Clermont High School, according to district and state records. The district covers about 54 square miles centered on Union Township and also includes portions of Batavia, Monroe and Pierce townships. Dr. David Fultz serves as superintendent.
