TATE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 35-year-old man faces felonious assault charges after allegedly shooting at another vehicle in a road rage incident in Clermont County. Miles Phillip Popp was arrested around midnight in Brown County and is being held on a $500,000 cash/surety bond.
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at 7:39 p.m. Monday near East Plane Street and Starling Road. The victim reported attempting to pass Popp’s vehicle when he heard three loud noises and felt debris strike his neck and face, caused by shattered glass from a rearview mirror hit by an unknown object. The victim was unharmed.
Deputies apprehended Popp on Locust Ridge New Harmony Road in Pike Township. He admitted to firing one gunshot from his vehicle, and a loaded gun was found in his vehicle’s glove box during a search. The incident remains under investigation.
