BETHEL, Ohio — The Village of Bethel will hold trick-or-treat hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, village officials announced in a social media post.
This year’s date lines up with Halloween falling on a Saturday, giving families the full evening to make the rounds without a school night the next day.
Bethel sits in Tate Township in northeastern Clermont County and had a population of 2,620 residents as of the 2020 census, according to U.S. Census figures. The village was first platted in 1798 under the name Plainfield before being replatted in 1802 and renamed Bethel, after the biblical city. A post office has operated there continuously since 1815.
The village is governed by a publicly elected six-member council alongside Mayor Jay Noble, according to the village government’s website. Council members are Cindy Shepherd, Ron Dunn, Jeff Thompson, Paulette Smith, Joel Ausman and Brenda Woodward. Council meets the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the Bethel Municipal Building.
