GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A disabled train has shut down two roads in Goshen Township, and officers do not know when they will reopen, the Goshen Township Police Department said Wednesday.
Hill Station Road and Gaynor Road are both blocked, the department said in a Facebook post. Drivers were urged to seek an alternate route while the train remains in place.
Hill Station Road takes its name from Hill’s Station, a stop on the historic Cincinnati and Marietta Railroad that once ran through the northwestern corner of Goshen Township. A small store operated irregularly at the stop, and a post office was established there in 1871, according to an 1880 history of Clermont County.
The department did not say how long the train had been disabled or which rail line it belonged to. It asked residents to watch for updates on when the roads would reopen.
The information contained in this story was obtained from the Goshen Township Police Department.
