MILFORD, Ohio — The Greater Milford Area Historical Society is holding a dine-to-donate fundraiser Saturday at City Barbeque’s Eastgate location, with a share of the day’s sales going to support Art Affaire, the nonprofit’s annual downtown art festival.
The fundraiser runs all day Saturday at City Barbeque, 878 Eastgate North Drive, and applies to dine-in, carryout, curbside and delivery orders, according to a flyer the historical society posted to Facebook. Customers ordering in person must show the fundraiser flyer to a cashier, while online and mobile app orders must include the promo code GIVE to count toward the total, the historical society said.
According to the fundraiser flyer, City Barbeque donates 20% of eligible food, beverage and bottled sauce sales back to the group, provided the day’s proceeds reach $300 or more.
The proceeds will benefit Art Affaire, the historical society’s largest annual fundraiser, which supports the upkeep of Promont, the 1865 Italianate Victorian mansion at 906 Main St. that serves as the nonprofit’s museum, according to the historical society. The mansion was once the home of John M. Pattison, the 43rd governor of Ohio and the only governor to come from Clermont County; the historical society has occupied the building since 1983.
Art Affaire draws hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors to a closed section of downtown Main Street each year for a juried art and fine-craft show, according to the historical society. This year’s show is scheduled for Sept. 26.
The historical society asked supporters to share the fundraiser flyer with friends, family and neighbors to help spread the word ahead of Saturday’s event.
