NEW RICHMOND, Ohio — New Richmond students will return to class in stages next week, with grade levels phased in over three days before the full student body, including preschoolers and kindergartners, is in session by Aug. 21.
Second-, fourth-, sixth-, ninth- and 10th-graders report first, on Aug. 19, according to the New Richmond Exempted Village School District. First-, third-, fifth-, seventh-, eighth-, 11th- and 12th-graders follow Aug. 20. All students, including those in preschool and kindergarten, begin Aug. 21.
The district said in a Facebook post that the staggered schedule is meant to ease students back into the routine of the school day grade by grade before everyone returns at once.
The staggered opening follows a back-to-school welcome event scheduled for Aug. 18 at New Richmond High School and New Richmond Middle School, where families can tour the buildings and meet teachers and coaches, according to the district.
New Richmond Exempted Village School District serves roughly 1,900 students across four schools — Locust Corner Elementary, Monroe Elementary, New Richmond Middle School and New Richmond High School — along Bethel-New Richmond Road in Clermont County. Paul Daniels serves as superintendent.
New Richmond High School’s teams compete as the Lions in red and black.
