PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Pierce Township Zoning Commission will discuss regulations for data centers, a residential cluster zoning classification and a possible rezoning of two neighborhood streets when it meets tonight, according to the township.
The commission is scheduled to convene at 6 p.m. at the township administration building, 950 Locust Corner Road, Pierce Township said in a Facebook post. The public is welcome to attend and offer input, the township said.
Three items make up the commission’s new business for the meeting, according to the agenda posted on the township’s website: a discussion of data centers, a discussion of residential cluster zoning, and a discussion of a possible rezoning of Tib Day Lane and White Birch Lane. The township did not release further detail on the scope of each discussion ahead of the meeting.
Ohio townships establish zoning commissions to review proposed changes to zoning maps and regulations and to forward recommendations to township trustees, who hold final authority over zoning decisions. Residential cluster zoning is a land-use approach that allows homes to be grouped more closely together on part of a parcel while the remaining land is preserved as open space.
Pierce Township covers about 23.5 square miles in the southwestern corner of Clermont County along the Ohio River and is home to more than 16,000 residents, according to the township. It is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees.
