STONELICK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Stonelick Township Fire and EMS on Wednesday night released a list of eight roads and road segments closed in the township because of damage from this week’s severe storms.
The closures include U.S. 50 at Benton Road, Brushy Fork Road, Newtonsville-Hutchinson Road, Monterey Road, Weaver Road between Newtonsville-Hutchinson Road and Bergen Road, Sumner Road, Mount Zion Road and Apgar Road, according to the department.
The department asked drivers to find alternate routes and not to drive around road closed signs.
The closures come as cleanup continues from severe thunderstorms that tore through Stonelick Township on Tuesday afternoon, snapping trees, blocking roads and knocking out power across the area. Stonelick Township Fire and EMS said it responded to more than 70 calls for service in the 24 hours after the storms hit, with much of the township left without electricity.
The storms caused damage countywide, cutting power to roughly 40,000 Duke Energy customers across Clermont County on Tuesday. The Clermont County Engineer’s Office separately closed nine roads elsewhere in the county Wednesday because of storm damage, including sections of Half Acre Road, Stonelick-Williams Corner Road and Wards Corner Road, and said crews were assessing damage and clearing debris where possible.
