BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A stretch of Taylor Road will close to through traffic for five days later this month so a contractor can complete a sanitary sewer tie-in connection, according to the Clermont County Engineer’s Office.
The closure is set to begin Oct. 19 and run through Oct. 23, affecting Taylor Road between the addresses of 4179 and 4188, the engineer’s office said in a Facebook post. A posted detour route will direct traffic around the closed section for the duration of the project.
The engineer’s office asked motorists for patience and cooperation while the work is completed.
The Clermont County Engineer’s Office is responsible for the construction, maintenance and repair of the county’s roads, bridges and culverts outside incorporated villages and cities, under authority granted by the Ohio Revised Code. The office oversees 387.2 miles of county highways, 423 bridges and nearly 3,000 roadway culverts, and also provides engineering guidance to township trustees and handles sewer and water line construction projects in unincorporated areas such as Batavia Township.
Jeremy Evans currently serves as Clermont County Engineer. Taylor Road runs through Batavia Township, which has been the county’s fastest-growing township over the past decade and is now home to nearly 28,000 residents, according to U.S. Census data.
Drivers who regularly use Taylor Road are encouraged to plan for the posted detour during the closure window.
