MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Cook Road is closed between Hidden Ridge Drive and Torrey Pines Drive after a large tree fell into electrical wires, according to the Miami Township Police Department.
The department posted a traffic alert Thursday morning advising drivers to avoid the area. Duke Energy crews are working to repair the lines, the police department said.
No estimated reopening time was given. Motorists were urged to seek an alternate route while repairs continue.
Duke Energy advises drivers and residents to treat any downed line as energized and dangerous, to stay away from a fallen line and anything touching it, and to report hazards by calling 911 and the utility’s Ohio/Kentucky line at 800-543-5599.
Cook Road runs through a residential section of Miami Township near the Hidden Ridge and Torrey Pines subdivisions, in the Milford area of Clermont County. The Miami Township Police Department, based on McPicken Drive in Milford, serves the township’s roughly 44,000 residents.
