UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Every student in the West Clermont Local School District will be able to eat breakfast at no cost starting with the 2026-2027 school year, the district said, but the benefit hinges on families completing a meal application even if they don’t think they qualify for aid.
The no-cost breakfast will be available at every West Clermont school and site under a federal option known as Provision 2, the district’s Child Nutrition Department said. Provision 2 lets a school district that serves a high share of low-income students provide meals free to all students for a multiyear cycle, using a base year of eligibility data instead of collecting a new application from every family every year.
Continuing the free breakfast benefit depends on West Clermont receiving a completed Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application from every household in the district, according to the Child Nutrition Department. Applications become available after Aug. 1 and can be submitted online through LINQ Connect or by scanning a QR code the district has circulated to families.
Families with questions can call the Child Nutrition Department at 513-943-5038 or return a paper application to their child’s school building, the district said. Completed applications can also be mailed to the department’s office at 4357 Ferguson Drive, Suite 200, Cincinnati.
West Clermont Local enrolls more than 8,000 students across nine schools — seven elementary schools, a middle school and a high school — in a roughly 54-square-mile area that includes Union Township and portions of Batavia, Monroe and Pierce townships, according to public enrollment records.
