GOSHEN, Ohio — Goshen Local Schools received a five-star overall rating on the 2025-26 Ohio School Report Card, the highest score possible under the state’s rating system, according to the district.
The rating places Goshen among the top-ranked districts in Ohio. The district said it exceeded or significantly exceeded state expectations in every area measured, including graduation rate and academic achievement.
Superintendent Brian Bailey credited students and staff for the result.
“Earning a five-star rating is a testament to the extraordinary effort happening in our classrooms every single day,” Bailey said. “This achievement belongs to our tireless teachers and support staff, our hardworking students, and the families who partner with us every step of the way.”
“While we are proud of this distinction, a rating is simply a reflection of our mission: ensuring every child in our community receives the high-quality education and support they deserve,” Bailey said.
The state report card breaks performance into five components. Goshen earned five stars in graduation rate, five stars in College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness, five stars in gap closing, four stars in achievement, four stars in early literacy and four stars in progress, according to the district.
Individual building ratings were also released: Goshen High School and Goshen Middle School each earned 4.5 stars, as did Spaulding Elementary, while Marr/Cook Elementary earned 4.0 stars, the district said.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce calculates the ratings using standardized test results from grades three through 12 administered each spring.
