BATAVIA, Ohio — The Batavia Police Department will host a Halloween Block Party for families on Oct. 31, featuring a small costumed parade, a trunk-or-treat, games and a bounce house, the department announced in a Facebook post.
The free event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Village Armory, 65 N. Second St., which houses the village’s municipal offices and the police department in the Clermont County seat.
The department is inviting local businesses to set up trunk-or-treat and vendor tables at the event. Organizers are offering prizes for the best Halloween costume in three age brackets: 0-4, 5-9 and 10-14, according to the announcement. The party will also include food, candy, DJ music and an obstacle course.

The Batavia Police Department, led by Chief Eric Williams, describes itself as a full-service community policing agency dedicated exclusively to serving the village, according to the village’s website.
