WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Firefighters battled a structure fire for about four hours early Wednesday in the 6100 block of Taylor Pike, according to the Stonelick Township Fire Department.
Crews from the department’s Station 40 and Station 41 were dispatched to the reported fire at about 2:55 a.m., the department said in a Facebook post. Chief 40, Engine 40, Engine 41 and Quint 40 responded, along with apparatus from several other departments called in on mutual aid.

Crews worked for roughly four hours to bring the blaze under control and extinguish it, the department said. No information on injuries or the fire’s cause was included in the department’s post.
While on-duty crews were committed to the fire, Williamsburg Township Fire’s Engine 73 and Miami Township’s Engine 29 moved up to cover Stonelick Township’s stations, the department said, ensuring emergency response capabilities remained available elsewhere in the community during the incident.

Stonelick Township Fire Department operates two stations: Station 40, its headquarters on U.S. 50, covers the southern part of the township, while Station 41, on Stonelick Williams Corner Road, covers the north end. The department relies on mutual aid agreements with neighboring departments, including Williamsburg Township and Miami Township, to maintain coverage during extended incidents such as Wednesday’s fire.
“Their teamwork, dedication and willingness to assist demonstrate the importance of strong partnerships between neighboring fire departments,” the department said in its post, thanking the mutual aid crews for their help.
