GOSHEN, Ohio — A Goshen Township Fire & EMS firefighter has completed Butler Tech’s paramedic program, adding another advanced life support provider to the department’s ranks.
Firefighter Cameron Mueller graduated from the program Tuesday, the department said in a Facebook post. “Strong work,” the department said in congratulating him.

The paramedic academy is run out of Butler Tech’s Regional Public Safety Education Complex in Liberty Township and combines classroom instruction with hospital and field training under national EMS standards. Completing the program allows a firefighter to provide advanced life support care, including cardiac monitoring, intravenous medication and other interventions beyond the scope of a basic emergency medical technician.
Goshen Township Fire & EMS operates out of two stations serving the township, including Station 18 on state Route 28, which the department rebuilt after an EF2 tornado destroyed the original building in July 2022. Edward Myers serves as the department’s fire chief.
Adding paramedic-level providers expands the number of calls a department can handle with its own advanced life support capability rather than relying on mutual aid.
