BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County will break ground Nov. 10 on two new buildings at its Filager Campus that will house the county’s Facilities Management Department, Engineer’s Office and public transit dispatch operation, according to the county.
The ceremonial groundbreaking is set for 10 a.m. at 4009 E. Filager Road, off state Route 222 in Batavia, and is open to the public, the county said.
The two projects, known as Phases 2 and 3 of the Filager Campus Improvement plan, are part of a broader effort to replace aging county facilities on the 143-acre campus, which already houses the Clermont County jail, municipal court, sheriff’s office and animal shelter, according to the county.
Phase 2 carries a cost of $9.8 million, funded through county capital dollars, and will provide new offices for the Facilities Management Department and the County Engineer’s Office, the county said. Demolition work on the site began in June, and the new building is expected to be finished by September 2027.
Phase 3, budgeted at $3.3 million and paid for with federal and state grant funding, will create office space for dispatch operators and staff of the Clermont Transportation Connection, the county’s public transit service, according to the county. The county awarded the construction contract in October, with work set to begin the week of the groundbreaking and wrap up by December 2027.
Cincinnati-based Graybach LLC is the contractor on both projects, the county said.
The two buildings follow Phase 1 of the campus plan, a Highway Operations and Fleet Maintenance facility that was completed in late 2024, according to the county.
