BATAVIA, Ohio — Fire and EMS crews responded to a head-on crash involving a pickup truck and a Kia sedan on Old State Route 32 near the Williamsburg Animal Clinic shortly after 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, and the road was shut down in the area while crews worked the scene, according to initial emergency radio traffic monitored by the Clermont Guardian.
Radio traffic described the collision as a high-velocity impact with injuries in the 3000 block of Old State Route 32, near its intersection with Lori Lynn Drive. Dispatchers sent multiple fire and EMS units, including Engine 73 and Medic 131, to the scene, according to radio traffic.
A short time later, a second medic unit, Medic 10, was also dispatched to assist, according to radio traffic.
Once on scene, crews reported two vehicles involved and initially described the damage as moderate before a unit corrected that to heavy damage, according to radio traffic. Old State Route 32 was shut down in the immediate area while crews worked the wreck, radio traffic indicated.
