MILFORD, Ohio — Business and property owners in Milford can apply for reimbursement of up to half the cost of storefront and accessibility upgrades under a rebate program the city says is available again for 2026.
The Small Business Incentive Rebate Program, run through the city’s economic development office, covers facade improvements, signage, accessibility upgrades, correction of exterior code violations, exterior renovations and other select building improvements, the city said in a social media post. Reimbursement can cover up to 50% of eligible project costs, with awards capped at $5,000 per project.
The city’s economic development office describes the rebate as a tool to help revitalize Milford’s commercial districts and address deteriorated storefronts. Business and property owners interested in applying are asked to contact the city to determine whether their project qualifies.
Milford property and business owners may also be able to combine the city rebate with a larger county funding source. The Clermont County Port Authority’s Facade Improvement Program offers grants of up to $20,000 for exterior work, with recipients required to provide a minimum 10% match, according to the city. Eligible work under the county program includes facade restoration, storefront improvements, exterior painting, masonry repairs, signage, lighting, awnings and ADA accessibility improvements. The county program is funded through federal Community Development Block Grant dollars and is limited to properties in designated low- and moderate-income areas.
City officials said the incentive programs are intended to improve curb appeal and property values, attract customers and private investment, and modernize commercial buildings along Milford’s business corridors.
