WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio — Jackson Township will begin its 2026 road paving program Tuesday, with crews working through the end of the month on repairs to Monterey Road, Monterey Maple Grove Road and Richey Road, the township said in a Facebook post.
The township apologized for the late notice, saying a recent storm forced last-minute adjustments to the project timeline.
Full-depth repairs on Monterey Road and Monterey Maple Grove Road are scheduled for Tuesday, according to the township. Crews will then pave Monterey Maple Grove Road from State Route 50 to Caudill Road on Wednesday, followed by paving on Richey Road on Thursday. The work will wrap up Aug. 31 with a parking lot expansion at the township’s firehouse and maintenance facility.
Motorists should expect temporary delays and brief road closures in the work zones and are encouraged to use alternate routes, drive slowly and watch for paving crews and equipment, the township said.
Jackson Township was established in June 1834 from parts of Stonelick, Wayne and Williamsburg townships and named for President Andrew Jackson, who was in office at the time — one of 37 Ohio townships bearing his name. The roughly 31-square-mile township has about 3,100 residents and a predominantly rural, agricultural character. It is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees, currently Joe Speeg, Rob Doyle and Shane Garr, along with Fiscal Officer Holly Isaacs.
