BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County commissioners are set to approve a $226,359 change order for the county’s 911 emergency radio system and grant applications for bridge and road projects across the county when they meet Sept. 23.
The board will consider Change Order No. 1 with Ceragon Networks Inc. for the 911 Microwave Backhaul System, covering remediation work at seven county tower sites, according to the county. The change would bring the total contract price for the project to $4.6 million.
Commissioners are also scheduled to adopt a resolution authorizing County Engineer Jeremy Evans to apply for state infrastructure funding through the Ohio Public Works Commission for four projects: bridge replacements over the Moscow Spur in Washington Township and Jackson Pike in Jackson Township, a bridge rebuild in Monroe Township’s Clermontville-Laurel area, and roadway and drainage improvements on Aicholtz Road in Union Township, the county said. The bridge and culvert projects carry a combined cost of about $2.6 million, with $2.06 million sought from the state; the Aicholtz Road project is estimated at $384,755, with $227,005 sought from the state.
The agenda also includes a subrecipient grant agreement sending $25,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding to Streetlight Ministry, a Batavia-based nonprofit, for its Homeless Outreach Program, according to the county.
Other items on the agenda include the release of performance and maintenance bonds for several subdivisions in Batavia, Miami and Pierce townships, a three-year extension of the county’s lease for the Experimental Stream Facility in Milford with the U.S. General Services Administration, and requests to advertise for bids on a road project in Batavia Township and the purchase of water treatment chemicals, the county said.
Commissioners will also consider budget transfers and supplemental appropriations for calendar year 2026, including $25,000 for criminal justice operating expenses and $90,000 for water treatment salaries, according to the county.
The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 23 at the county administration building in Batavia.
