BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County commissioners are set to consider more than $2.5 million in water main contracts and a $121,567 bid to replace a generator at the county’s emergency radio tower in Bethel when they meet Sept. 30, according to a draft agenda.
The board will weigh awarding a roughly $2.19 million contract to Rack & Ballauer Excavating Inc. of Hamilton for the Chapel Road Water Main Replacement Project in Batavia Township, and a $333,230 contract to Lonkard Construction Co. of Union, Kentucky, for the Buckwheat Road Water Service Transfers Project in Miami Township, the agenda shows.
Commissioners are also expected to consider awarding a $121,567 bid to Speelman Electric LLC of Tallmadge to replace the generator at the county’s Grant Tower communications site on State Route 125 in Bethel, with work required within 365 days of a notice to proceed.
The board will hear a presentation from Envision Group LLC on an economic development strategic plan for the county, according to the agenda. Commissioners will also consider a proclamation designating Oct. 4-12 as “Water Professionals Appreciation Week” in Clermont County.
Other items on the agenda include a request to reject all bids for a stalled HVAC replacement project at the county’s Heritage Building in Batavia after none were submitted, and a proposal to raise the insurance valuation on the historic Stonelick Covered Bridge to $2.81 million to reflect its reproduction cost.
The board is also set to approve a change order adding $26,120 in soil work to the Filager Campus Improvement project in Batavia, with no change to the contract’s overall price or completion date, the agenda shows.
The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 30 at the county administration building in Batavia.
