OHIO TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Twelvemile Road will close to through traffic for nearly a week next month while a contractor reseals the deck of a bridge over Twelvemile Creek, according to the Clermont County Engineer’s Office.
The closure runs from Oct. 26 through Oct. 31, covering a stretch of Twelvemile Road between addresses 1365 and 1372 in Ohio Township, the engineer’s office said in a Facebook post.
The work targets Bridge No. C126-1.02, which carries Twelvemile Road over Twelvemile Creek, as part of a broader bridge maintenance program. Crews will perform concrete deck sealing on the span, a preservation treatment engineers use to protect a bridge deck’s surface from water infiltration and extend its service life before more costly repairs become necessary.
A posted detour of about 9.05 miles will route traffic around the closed section for the duration of the project, the engineer’s office said. The agency asked drivers to plan ahead and follow posted detour signs while the work is underway.
The Clermont County Engineer’s Office oversees maintenance and construction on the county’s roads and more than 200 bridges, and regularly schedules short-term closures for bridge preservation work to minimize long-term disruption to motorists.
