WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio — A community fundraiser will be held Nov. 8 to help cover the cost of cancer treatment for a paramedic and firefighter who serves Williamsburg Township Emergency Services and the Stonelick Township Fire Department.
Danielle Vonder Meulen has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood cancer that will require a stem cell transplant, about a month in the hospital and two additional months of quarantine and recovery, according to a flyer posted by the Stonelick Township Fire Department.

The event, called “Brewing Hope for Danielle,” will run from noon to 4 p.m. at Dead Low Brewing, 5959 Kellogg Ave. in Cincinnati. Organizers planned raffle baskets, a split-the-pot drawing and helicopter rides provided by Cincinnati Helicopters, according to the flyer.
The fundraiser is being held in partnership with the SITREP Foundation, a New Richmond-based nonprofit that provides mental health support, crisis response and other assistance to veterans, first responders and their families. Those unable to attend can donate online at sitrepfoundation.org, the flyer said.
The Stonelick Township Fire Department, headquartered in Batavia, provides fire and paramedic service to the township from two stations. The department was formed in 2006 from the former Owensville Fire Department.
Residents interested in donating a raffle basket were asked to contact Joan Foster at 513-312-1257. Those seeking more information about the fundraiser were asked to contact Jason Mallott at [email protected], according to the flyer.
