MOUNT CARMEL, Ohio — The Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities will host a Halloween dance tonight at the Mt. Carmel American Legion, starting at 7 p.m., the agency said in a Facebook post.

The event is open to clients of the county board, known locally as CCDD, which provides services to Clermont County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities from infancy through adulthood. The agency’s programs include early intervention for children younger than 3, preschool and school-age services, transition services for ages 14 to 22, and employment and community support for adults, according to the agency’s website.

CCDD describes its mission as helping the people it serves "expand their capabilities and navigate the possibilities," with services guided by respect, inclusion and person-centered care. The agency has said every individual it serves "deserves access to transportation, recreation, social opportunities, friendships, and full participation within their community," and has held social events like Thursday’s dance as part of that effort.
