BATAVIA, Ohio — Batavia Village Council will hold a public hearing next month on a request to rezone the property that houses the Clermont County Convention & Visitors Bureau, clearing the way for a potential change in how the Main Street building can be used.
The hearing is set for 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Armory, 65 N. Second St., according to a notice posted by the village. Council will consider a request to change the zoning classification for 410 E. Main St., identified by parcel number 060204.109, from B1 Village Business to R2 Village Residential.
The rezoning request was filed by the Clermont County Visitors Bureau, which has operated out of the 410 E. Main St. address for years, according to the bureau’s own listed contact information. The bureau is the county’s official destination marketing organization, promoting tourism, group travel and local attractions throughout Clermont County.
The village said residents are welcome to attend the hearing and share comments on the request. Those with questions before the meeting can call the Village of Batavia office at 513-732-2020.
Public hearings on zoning changes give council members a chance to weigh resident input before voting on whether to approve or deny a rezoning request, a step typically required before a property can be formally reclassified under the village’s zoning code.
