GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Deerfield Road will shut down to through traffic for three days starting Nov. 3 so a contractor can tie a new section of water line into the existing main, the Clermont County Engineer’s Office said in a Facebook post.
The closure is centered near 5867 Deerfield Road, along the line separating Goshen and Miami townships, according to the engineer’s office. The road is scheduled to reopen Nov. 5, and the project also appears on the office’s online road-closure list under the heading “Watermain Connection Project.”
A posted detour of about 7.75 miles will carry traffic around the closed section for the duration of the work, the engineer’s office said. A detour map released with the announcement routes drivers around the closure by way of Winwood Drive to the north and Cedarville Road and Baas Road to the south, skirting the edge of Stonelick Township before rejoining Deerfield Road.
The Clermont County Engineer’s Office, led by County Engineer Jeremy Evans, maintains roughly 400 miles of county roads and bridges. Short-term utility closures like the Deerfield Road tie-in are handled by the office’s engineering division, which oversees utility relocations and construction contract management for projects across the county, according to the office’s website. The office posts a running list of active and upcoming closures — from bridge replacements to utility connections — to its website and Facebook page.
