GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Goshen Township’s Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing Oct. 27 on a request to rezone a self-storage property on state Route 28 so the business can expand, according to the township.
The case, filed as ZC-2026-008, covers a parcel at 1642 State Route 28 that is home to Goshen Storage, a facility that advertises drive-up units and 24-hour access. The applicant wants to expand the existing self-storage operation there, the township said in a notice announcing the hearing.
Because the expansion would enlarge a pre-existing, nonconforming use under the township’s zoning map, the property must first be rezoned into a district that permits self-storage facilities, in accordance with the Goshen Township Zoning Resolution, according to the township. The township’s Zoning Commission reviewed the same case last month before sending it to the trustees, who hold final authority over zoning map changes.
The hearing is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 27 as part of the trustees’ regular meeting. The township said it will follow a specific order: zoning staff will first summarize the request and the applicable regulations, then the applicant will present additional information and answer questions from the board. The trustees will then open the floor to public comment, hearing first from residents who support the application, then from those opposed, and finally from those who are neutral.
The township asked residents who plan to speak to wait for the appropriate point in that process. Questions can be directed to the Goshen Township Planning and Zoning Department at 513-722-3400.
Goshen Township’s trustees are Bob Hausermann, Dan Hodges and Lisa Allen.
