MOSCOW, Ohio — A fuel spill coated U.S. 52 near the Marathon gas station in Moscow on Monday, leaving the roadway slick for drivers heading east into town and continuing onto westbound State Route 743, according to Washington Township Fire-Rescue.
The fire department warned the public in a Facebook post to use caution through the area, saying crews found the pavement “extremely slippery” in the stretch between the gas station and the state route. It did not say how the spill occurred or how long cleanup would take.
Washington Township Fire-Rescue said it notified the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Cincinnati District 8 office, which maintains state and federal highways across Clermont and several surrounding counties, so crews could address the hazard.
Washington Township Fire-Rescue serves the Moscow area along the Ohio River in southern Clermont County, operating out of multiple stations with a combination of volunteer and career firefighters.
