UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A man is in custody at the Clermont County Jail after Union Township police say he robbed a Taco Bell at gunpoint late last month, then evaded capture for three days before detectives tracked him down.
Union Township’s communications center received a report of an aggravated robbery at the restaurant, 820 Eastgate South Drive, at approximately 10:40 p.m. Oct. 25, according to the Union Township Police Department. Patrol officers were immediately dispatched, but the armed suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money before they arrived.

Detectives took over the investigation and spent the following days working to identify and locate the suspect, the department said. He was taken into custody Oct. 28 and is charged with aggravated robbery, a second-degree felony under Ohio law.
The case was handled by the department’s investigative bureau, which includes five detectives, an investigations sergeant and four school resource officers who work major crimes across the township, according to the department. Union Township police trace their history to 1965, when the department began with a single part-time officer; it has since grown into a more than 60-member, internationally accredited agency that patrols one of Clermont County’s busiest commercial corridors, including the Eastgate Pavilion, Eastgate Crossing and Eastgate South shopping areas where the robbery occurred.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
