LOVELAND, Ohio — Loveland City Council will hold a public hearing July 28 to take public comment on a proposed rewrite of the city’s zoning code, the product of nearly a year of work by the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
The hearing is set for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 120 W. Loveland Ave., according to the city. Council will consider input on a rewrite of Part 11 of the Loveland Codified Ordinances, the section of city law that governs planning and zoning.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the rewrite after eight meetings held between September 2025 and May 2026, according to city records. The city has posted a legal notice and a summary of the proposed changes on its website ahead of the hearing.
A comprehensive rewrite, as opposed to piecemeal amendments, lets a city update its rules for land use, building types, setbacks, parking and other development standards in a single pass rather than case by case.
Loveland operates under a council-manager form of government. The seven-member council, led by Mayor Kathy Bailey and Vice Mayor Andy Bateman, sets policy through ordinances and resolutions while a city manager handles day-to-day operations. Council typically meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Residents who cannot attend the hearing in person can review the proposed changes on the city’s website beforehand, according to the city.
