UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Clough Pike will close at Dixie Lane for two days later this month while crews replace a deteriorating culvert under the road, the Clermont County Engineer’s Office said.
The closure is scheduled for Sept. 22-23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, according to the engineer’s office. County crews will replace the intersection pipe running beneath Dixie Lane, work that requires shutting Clough Pike to through traffic at the intersection during working hours.
A posted detour will route traffic around the closure for the duration of the work, the engineer’s office said. Access to Dixie Lane itself will be maintained throughout the project using steel plates laid over the excavation, allowing residents along that street to come and go while the culvert is replaced.
The engineer’s office asked motorists to expect delays and consider alternate routes during the closure windows.
Clough Pike is a heavily traveled east-west corridor through Union Township, connecting the Glen Este-Withamsville Road area to Eastgate and points east. The Clermont County Engineer’s Office maintains 385 miles of county roads, 421 bridges and nearly 2,900 crossroad culverts, and regularly schedules culvert and drainage replacements during late-summer and fall construction windows when pavement work is easier to complete.
