BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County commissioners are scheduled to vote Wednesday on a $198,525 contract to replace audiovisual systems in four courtrooms at the Clermont County Municipal Court, part of a regular session agenda that also includes a bid solicitation for a sewer lift station upgrade and a renewal of the county jail’s food service contract.
The commissioners’ 10 a.m. meeting opens with a proclamation designating Oct. 28, 2026, as “National First Responders Day” in Clermont County, according to the draft agenda.
Under the non-consent agenda, commissioners will consider an agreement with Calvin Electric LLC to replace, install and program audiovisual equipment in Courtrooms B, C, D and E at the municipal court. The contract, awarded through a General Services Administration schedule, would not exceed $198,525 and is contingent on the county issuing a purchase order, the county said.
Commissioners also plan to execute a third renewal of the county’s contract with Summit Food Service LLC, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to continue providing inmate food services at the Clermont County Adult and Juvenile Detention Facilities for another 12 months beginning Oct. 25, 2026.
The board is set to adopt a resolution declaring its intent to make improvements to the Orchard Valley Lift Station in Miami Township and to advertise for construction bids. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Dec. 3, with bids due by 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at the commissioners’ office at 101 E. Main St. in Batavia, where they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
On the consent agenda, the Department of Job and Family Services is seeking approval of a service agreement with TipCo Automated Systems of Circleville for an AI-powered virtual assistant to support the department’s public assistance program, at a cost not to exceed $25,000 through Oct. 31, 2027.
Commissioners are also expected to approve supplemental appropriations for 2026 totaling $436,500, including $300,000 for facilities management, $110,000 for sheriff’s fleet maintenance, $23,000 in FEMA-related expenses and $3,500 for municipal court fringe benefits, according to the agenda.
Other items include authorization for the county engineer to convert performance-maintenance bonds for subdivisions in Goshen, Pierce and Union townships, release of water main extension bonds in Miami, Union and Batavia townships, and termination of the county’s lawn mowing contract with B&B Lawn & Landscaping effective Dec. 1.
