UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Union Township and West Clermont Local Schools are asking families to weigh in on a School Travel Plan meant to make it safer for students to walk and bike to five schools, with feedback due Nov. 6, according to the online survey the district is using to collect input.

The plan covers Clough Pike, Summerside, Willowville and Withamsville-Tobasco elementary schools, along with West Clermont High School, the township said in a Facebook post. Parents, caregivers and students are invited to submit feedback online, and the responses will help determine which infrastructure projects make it into the final plan, according to the survey.

West Clermont Local Schools took its current shape in August 2017, when the district merged Amelia and Glen Este high schools into a single West Clermont High School building and combined two middle schools into West Clermont Middle School, consolidating its secondary campuses. The district today includes seven elementary schools — Amelia, Clough Pike, Holly Hill, Merwin, Summerside, Willowville and Withamsville-Tobasco — along with the middle school, the high school and a preschool, serving Union Township and parts of Batavia, Monroe, Ohio and Pierce townships.
